John Kerry on Coalition Efforts in Libya
Secretary of State John Kerry said Libya was “on the brink of getting a government of national unity,” and re-emphasized the importance of coalition in the fight against ISIS.
7. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE, JOHN KERRY, SAYING:“In Libya, we’re on the brink of getting a government of national unity. That will prevent Daesh from turning Libya into a stranglehold on that country’s future. And as everybody here knows, has, that country has resources. The last thing in the world you want is a false caliphate with access to billions of dollars of oil revenue.”11. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE JOHN KERRY SAYING:“With sufficient effort by everybody, with continued military, financial and humanitarian contributions by the members of this coalition I am absolutely confident, I have no doubt, we are going to degrade and destroy Daesh.”
