Clinton Promises Reforms for Latinos
Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, promised to help Latino-owned small businesses and to create an immigration overhaul that would offer a path to citizenship.
I am making, to you, two commitments for what I will do in the first 100 days of my administration. First, we will make the biggest investment in new, good-paying jobs since World War II with support specifically for Latino-owned small businesses.”Hillary Clinton, presumptive Democratic nominee for the US presidency:“Latinos are 17 percent of our country’s population, but you hold only two percent of its wealth. There’s a disconnect here. We’ve got to connect more Latinos with good jobs that pay good wages.”Hillary Clinton, presumptive Democratic nominee for the US presidency:“Some of you might remember one of the conclusions was that Republicans had to work harder to appeal to Latino voters. Next week in Cleveland, they will nominate someone who thinks Latino outreach is tweeting a picture of a taco bowl. What a difference a few years make. Donald Trump (presumptive Republican nominee) is temperamentally unfit to be President of the United States.”
