Truck Plunges Off Bridge, Killing 4
The San Diego police charged a 24-year-old man with driving under the influence, causing injury and death, after four people were killed when his pickup truck flew off a bridge on Saturday.
(SOUNDBITE) SAN DIEGO FIRE-RESCUE DEPARTMENT, CHIEF BRIAN FENNESSY, SAYING:“When they arrived they did find the vehicle on its side and on top of four individuals as reported. The four individuals did not survive. We transported two individuals with major injuries and seven with minor injuries.”(SOUNDBITE) UNIDENTIFIED MAN, SAYING:“There was a lady sitting behind me and I pushed her out of the way. We were pretty close. So we were able to get away from it. After that we all tried to run, push the truck up to get it off the bodies...”
