Cuban Migrants Cross Into the U.S.
Hundreds of Cubans lined up at Mexico’s northern border to enter the United States, many saying they came looking for a better future.
(SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) CUBAN MIGRANT, JULIO QUIROGA, SAYING:“I left Cuba on November 1 and I was in Costa Rica for three months and seven days. (Reporter: Why did you leave Cuba?) We left with our family and to find a better future.”(SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) CUBAN MIGRANT, MARIO MARTINEZ, SAYING:“To find a better world where nobody stops you from saying what you want to say, where there is freedom of expression. Where your work is yours, you earn for the work you do and not like over there (Cuba) where wages are not enough to live on, to buy things, food.”
