Movie Review: ‘Inferno’
The Times critic Manohla Dargis reviews “Inferno.”
“Inferno” is the third movie based on the Dan Brown novels that started with “The Da Vinci Code.” This time around, Robert Langdon must save the world from a deadly virus. In her review, Manohla Dargis writes:Tom Hanks, slips back into the role of the so-called symbologist for a third time. Director Ron Howard brings clenched-jaw commitment and a whole mess of filmmaking to even the most disposable material. The story may not make any sense, but they’re going to throw so much stuff at you, so many jumpy moves, so many tangled story threads you might not notice (or care). Part of the draw of these movies is that they don’t create beauty, but instead borrow the emotions of the beauty they depict. That makes the movies easy to watch and easy to forget.
